After reaching 40 partner clinics in 12 cities in Romania in 2020, the journey continues for MEDON | Medici Online and Group CEO Patrick Nordstjærne who have launched the MEDON Academy PRO, a platform which aims to connect Romanian doctors with private clinics and hospitals in Denmark.
“We looked into the crystal globe and realized that Denmark and many other countries are facing a retirement problem because the number of doctors retiring by far exceeds the number of domestic doctors graduating. Our new Academy PRO will increase the mobility and flexibility and bring the doctors to where the demand requires it,” Patrick Nordstjærne explains.
Wanting to empower and train Romanian doctors and give them more tools in their pursuit of flexibility, better working conditions and personal job satisfaction, the MEDON Academy PRO online platform aims to train and prepare Romanian doctors for working abroad – Denmark in particular.
All candidates will go through a 6 month training programme at MEDON, which will give them the opportunity of employment in Denmark, after successfuly completing the training.
“We see more and more investments funds coming to Romania to buy big and cheap and many of the doctors that we work with are not necessarily interested in this business model”, according to Patrick Nordstjærne, the owner and founder of MEDON, which is part of Sibus Group.
“We know our critics will claim that we are offsetting the balance, but in our opinion, a medical doctor becomes a better professional by training with the best, seeing new practices, standards and by learning different values. Our collaborators in Denmark are specifically targeting Romanian doctors because of their high standards, their work ethics and ability to adapt culturally and language wise.” Added Nordstjærne.
Currently in the process of completing the training groups with the intention of creating the right dynamics, every candidate is interviewed online and handpicked individually for the program based on experience and personal qualifications. The weekly language courses are done online by native trainers, but once every 3 months, the participants gather in Bucharest for full weekend of workshops and intensive personal development and language training.
