Enel X Romania, part of Enel X, the advanced energy services division of Enel Group, has put into operation two new charging stations for electric vehicles, one in Dumbrăvița, near Timișoara, and one in Banat’s capital, on 16 Decembrie 1989 Boulevard. Thus, the charging points network developed by the company in Romania has reached 38 units, most of which are currently located in Bucharest.

“Electric vehicles are the most dynamic segment of new vehicle sales in Romania, stimulated by the government program Rabla Plus as well, whose funds have been recently supplemented. We want to support the Romanians who are stepping up the transition to electric mobility by installing an increasing number of charging stations for electric vehicles in Romania. We thus contribute to improving access to electric charging infrastructure, in line with our commitment to facilitate transportation anywhere in the country, in a cleaner and more sustainable way”, said Mihai Mardale, Head of e-Mobility Enel X Romania.

The most recent charging stations launched by Enel X are of the JuicePole type and there is one near Timișoara, on Conac street in Dumbrăvița, on an intensely circulated artery, and the second one on 17, 16 Decembrie 1989 Boulevard. With a power of 2 x 22 kW each, the two stations allow the recharging of two electric vehicles simultaneously and the charging of up to 40% of the battery level in 30 minutes, depending on the car model and specifications.

The two recently installed charging stations increase the number of Enel X stations in Timiș County to three, the first of them, a JuicePump type, being located inside the Timișoara airport premises.

Users will be able to recharge their vehicles at the Enel X charging points using the JuicePass mobile app – the single interface for Enel X customers to access a network of over 50,000 public charging points across 18 European countries, leveraging on the interoperability partnership with charging network operators IONITY and SMATRICS. The app can be downloaded from Google Play or App Store, and an installing guide can be accessed on enelx.ro website.

Drivers can check the locations and status of Enel X charging points on an interactive map either on JuicePass app, or on the website, here.

Enel X Romania has the largest public e-Mobility infrastructure plan in the country, which includes the installation of approx. 2,500 charging points across all of the country’s regions up to 2023, involving an overall investment of approximately EUR 15 to 20 million.

The installation of Enel X charging points will continue with other units in Bucharest, Timișoara, Sibiu and Constanța and is aimed at adapting to the development of EV use in the country, at household and institutional level, as well as among businesses, through the demand from fleet owners.

Enel X Romania installs charging infrastructure on the premises of “Recharge Partners” – shopping malls, supermarkets, restaurants and hotels that want to attract electric car users. The installation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure comes at no cost to the company’s Recharge Partners in exchange for the availability of parking areas.

The company is also offering a similar service to municipalities that are interested in improving air quality by encouraging electric mobility. Enel X Romania helps local authorities identify the most appropriate solutions and provides the installation and maintenance of the charging infrastructure at no cost, on public parking spaces.

Enel X Romania also ensures call center services, in order to assist drivers who charge their vehicles to its charging points, and who can call for assistance at 031.4032.231, from Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 – 24:00.

The company applies a tariff model based on which drivers can charge their electric vehicles starting from RON 1.29 per recharging unit (1 recharging unit = 1 kWh).
