Accenture announced that it will acquire Broadcom’s Symantec Cyber Security division. The financial details have not been made public, but it is meant to make Accenture Security one of the world’s leading providers of security services.

Accenture Security will improve its ability to help companies anticipate, detect and respond quickly to cyber threats.

Symantec’s portfolio of cyber security services includes global threat monitoring and analysis through a network of security operations centers, real-time threat information services and industry-specific incident response.

The six security operations centers are located in the US, UK, India, Australia, Singapore and Japan. The security services activity is supported by its own cloud platform that offers a constant flow of information about technical and cyber threats through a customizable portal.

“Cyber security has become critical for all organizations, regardless of industry or geographic location,” said Julie Sweet, Accenture’s executive director. “With the addition of Symantec’s cyber security services, Accenture Security will provide one of the most comprehensive managed services for global businesses to detect and manage the cyber security threats they face.”

In fiscal year 2019, Accenture invested nearly USD 1.2 billion globally in 33 acquisitions to acquire critical skills and capabilities in strategic areas.

The completion of the acquisition is subject to conditions and is expected to be completed in March this year.
