Romanians invited to pick among 13 logos of Great Union centenary

Romanians can now vote for one of the 13 logos proposed by the Ministry of Culture, which will serve as the visual identity of the celebration of the centenary of the Great Union of 1918. The share of the popular vote in the final mark obtained by the logo is 25 percent. 

All 13 logos use the colours of the Romanian flag, namely red, yellow and dark blue. While many of the logos use geometric shapes, one of them included in the design an illustration of The Kiss by Constantin Brancusi.

The competition for the 13 logos was organised by the Ministry of Culture, together with the Union of Advertising Agents in Romania and with support from the International Advertising Association and that of the Centre of Excellency in the Study of Image and of UNARTE. Three Romanian agencies, namely Pastel, FCB Bucharest and BrandNew, which proposed 13 visual identities.

The winning logo will be chosen after two rounds of judging by the jury. During the first round, the agencies will present their proposals, while during the last round the public will choose their favourite logo, by 27 August, at 11.59 pm. The winner will be the logo that scores the biggest marks in both rounds.
