The Association of Producers and Users of Natural Compressed Gas launched the initiative to   build the first network of nine specialized filling stations until the end of 2019.

The stations will be developed in Bucharest, Timisoara, Constanta, Craiova, Arad, Pitesti, Sibiu, Drobeta and Deva.

The project will be developed with European funds and has an overall cost of EUR 5.2 million, out of which the EU contribution is EUR 4.4 million.

According to the data, the natural compressed gas is the fuel with the cleanest burn and the cars that use this fuel have up to 30 percent less gases with green effect than the ones that use gas and Diesel fuel.

„The project started very hard, because it’s something new. But the nine stations that we want to make through this project are only the beginning. We won’t stop here, we’ll continue to cover Romania with stations of liquid natural gas,” said Dumitru Becsenescu, president of the association.

Currently, there is already a compressed natural gas station in Romania, launched in November 2015 in Ramnicu Valcea, after an investment of EUR 3.2 million, made by Antares, according to Agerpres.
