The national railway company CFR will increase its 2017 wage budget by 22.5 percent, the company announced. The increase in the wage budget will be reflected in the staff’s salaries.

As the CFR employees’ collective work contract expired on 22 March, the company proposed a signing of an additional act for a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of 90 days, so that the staff can preserve several rights, such as entitlement to bonuses, meal tickets or social support.

Negotiations carried out between administration and the representative unions with the purpose to close another contract were carried out according to provisions of Law 62/2011, CFR said in a statement. The agenda of the meetings also included talks on the rights of employees as well a improvement of work conditions.

The budget draft was approved by the Board as well as by the Shareholders’ General Meeting and sent to the relevant ministries to be approved.
