Multinational exercise of the Romanian Marine Forces with 2,000 Romanian and foreign soldiers

Sea Shield 16, the biggest multinational exercise organized in 2016 by the Romanian Marine Forces, will take place during July 22-28 in the territorial Romanian and international waters of the Black Sea, according to Hotnews.

During the five days, 1,000 Romanian and foreign solders from seven countries will practice on sea. The Romanian Marine Forces will participate with 11 ships, two Puma Naval helicopters, two mobile squads of rockets launching and a support ship for divers. There will also be air fight sequence exercises with two MIG 21 LanceR aicrafts and a Puma helicopter.

Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, Poland, US, Turkey and Ukraine will attend with five frigates, three submarines of hunting, a corvette, a submarine, four aircrafts and staff officers.

“Within the Sea Sheld 2016 exercise, the structures from the Romanian Marine Forces, that are nominated to be part of the Reaction Force NATO 2016-2017, will be evaluated, “ say the Romanian Marine Forces in a release.

“Considering the complexity of the exercises integrated in the Sea Shield 2016, the great number of ships, aircrafts and solders attending, as well as the extensive dimension of the marine division where the initiation actions are taking place, the Romanian Marine Forces prove that they own the organizational, planning and leading skills to consolidate the security and defence of the Black Sea, “ add the Romanian Marine Forces.
