The increase of the salaries of the public servants will be applied next year as well as the increase of the pension point by 15 starting September 1, 2019, and the vacation vouchers will be given to all the budgets as in 2018, declared for AGERPRES, Minister of Public Finance, Eugen Teodorovici.
“As I said, next year, salaries and pensions will be paid for sure. The increase in wages, according to Law 153, will apply, and also the pension point will increase from September 1 with 15 percent. This is how we will make the budget for 2019. Otherwise, those prorogation of measures that have been given since 2010, the respective gentleman (Sorin Dumitrascu, president of the Federation of Trade Unions of the National Penitentiary Administration) should know about them must understand that they are made year after year. The wage ”freezing” thing is neither correct nor real,” said Teodorovici.
He made this statement after the information provided by the President of the Federation of Trade Unions in the National Administration of Penitentiaries, Sorin Dumitrascu, according to which a draft Government Ordinance was to be approved at Friday’s Government meeting that will state that the salaries of the public servants will be frozen next year, at the December level, and vacation vouchers will no longer be granted.
Teodorovici said that this draft Ordinance comes in line with the State Budget Law and has several measures, including the payment of overtime, by granting free days, a measure to be taken from 2010.
“It is an ordinance that comes together with the Budget Law and has several measures of this kind. There will be only a prorogation of terms that are made year after year and is not a something new. In the budget for 2019, the base salaries in the budgetary sector will increase by a quarter of the difference between the base salary provided by the Law no.153 / 2017 for the year 2022 and the one in December 2018. Next year the salaries increase as the law says. And what about freezing the retirement point? We gave and raised the retirement point and said that the next increase by 15 percent will be on September 15, 2019, as it is passed in the bill approved by the Government,” added the head of the in Finance.
In this context, the head of the Finance Ministry explained that the new provisions do not refer to base salaries and other elements of the payroll system, which, according to the law, are part of the gross monthly salary excluding basic salaries.
According to the quoted source, this ordinance will not enter the government this week on Friday but next Thursday with the draft budget for 2019.
“It will probably come next Thursday when the draft budget for next year will be discussed, but it will be put on the site in public consultation and also with the trade unions and social dialogue,” added the Finance Minister.
Teodorovici specified that the holiday vouchers will be received by all budget sector employees in 2019 and will be given the same form as this year.
“This will be the same as this year, a voucher type, even though the salary bill has passed that cash will be paid. It will be RON 1,450 for all budget sector employees. It is a good measure and with a very important impact for industry,” added the minister.
On the 2019 draft budget, Eugen Teodorovici said that he is currently working on him for finalization, next Thursday he will join the Government, and on December 14 he will go to Parliament so that on December 21 “we end the vote in Parliament”.
