The construction works in Romania declined by 16.4 percent year-on-year in July, due to a sharp decline in almost all major sectors, official data show.
In June, the construction works grew by 0.9 percent year-on-year.
Residential buildings declined by 36.3 percent year-on-year in July, while engineering constructions – including government-financed roads and bridges works – decreased by 6 percent. Non-residential buildings works declined by 15.4 percent year-on-year.
Capital repairs sector increased by 6.5 percent year-on-year, maintenance and current repairs decreased by 13.6 percent, while new constructions sector declined by 20.3 percent compared with July 2017.
Compared with June, construction works decreased by 9.1 percent in seasonally adjusted series.
In the first seven months of this year, construction works in Romania declined by 3.7 percent year-on-year, according to official data.
