UPC Romania, part of Liberty Global Group, which will be acquired by Vodafone Group in a global deal, ended Q1 2018 with better results than in the same period of the previous year. The expansion of coverage for digital services, as well as the permanent improvement of the experience offered to clients, supported the positive results of the first quarter.

At the end of Q1, UPC Romania had 1.33 million clients – 3.6 percent more than in Q1 2017, but 0.6 percent fewer than at the end of December 2017. The revenues for Q1 2018 went up to RON 190.7 million, a 7 percent growth from the previous year.

In the past 12 months, the number of subscriptions grew by 5.9 percent, to 2.42 million. The landline services segment had the best results, with a 12.2 percent increase from March 2017, to 547,800. Internet service subscriptions also grew by 8 percent, to 587,300.

Digital TV services advanced by 5.1 percent, to 680,200. Overall, television services – cable and satellite – were up 2.6 from March 2017, to 1.29 million users.
