The Jazz in the Park Festival launches, for the fourth time in a row, The Jazz in the Park Fund, the mechanism through which the participants support art and get involved in the community. This year the festival proposed itself to raise from non-mandatory tickets EUR 30,000, amount of money from which to finance at least three artistic projects.
The program targets artists from Romania and abroad that need financing in order to develop and present their project in Cluj. They should have initiatives in the following fields:
- Visual arts (painting, graphics, decorative arts, photography, video-art, ceramics, installations, collage, film, architecture, conceptual arts, etc.);
- Literature (editing and publishing original literary content, editing and publishing books, cartoons, magazines and other new cultural publications, editorial and literary online projects);
- Show arts (musical production, theater, dance, etc.);
- Other artistic domains (new media, culinary arts, multi-disciplinary arts, etc).
This year’s Fund goal is to raise EUR 30,000. In case the raised amounts will be smaller, the organizers plan to finance at least three artistic projects with a total amount of EUR 16,000.
„We grew our goal and the amount of assumed budget, reason for which we are expecting to receive a larger number of better entries,” said the Jazz in the Park festival director, Alin Vaida.
The financing requests can be submitted until April 8.
Last year’s winner was Galerie de arta pe roti #3, a project of visual revival through art for the old trams in Cluj and of public transport transformation into a gallery on wheels’ gallery.
