Commercial center Liberty Center registered an year-on-year traffic increase by 12 percent in 2017 and reached 4 million visitors/year. The tenants’ sales increased year-on-year by 16 percent, reaching an occupancy rate of 78 percent, compared with 52 percent at the end of 2016.
„The results from 2017 proves that the repositioning and growth strategy that we began to implement at the end of 2016, when JLL took over the Liberty Center administration, is sustainable and will help us maintain the positive dynamic of development also for the next period. The efficiency plans were based on rethinking the tenants mix and on the entertainment field expansion, so that we offer our clients the products and services range that they need from a proximity commercial center. We are confident that the growth trend will still maintain, which offers the possibility to invest in the expansion of some areas, as well as in restructure works,” said Corina Stamate, center manager, JLL Romania.
Besides the increase in the number of tenants at the end of 2017, the improvement of the occupancy level of Liberty Center is due to the development of entertainment area at the second level of the commercial center, through the expansion of the bowling and billiard space.
For 2018, Liberty Center is focusing on the continuation of occupancy level and of the number of visitors and the beginning of a restructure project that will take place in the second part of the year and will focus on the ground floor of the commercial center, the parking and the restaurants and entertainment area from the second floor. The restructuring works will finish at the beginning of 2019.
