Domestic appliances player Arctic appoints Murat Buyukerk as general director, starting January 2018. Buyukerk took over the position from Nihat Bayız, who has been promoted as director R&D within Arcelik group.

Buyukerk has an experience of 28 years within Arcelik group, while he has held leading positions in product management, supply chain and sales. Starting 2014 he has been International Regional Sales director for Arcelik group, successfully coordinating the launch on diverse product ranges and top technologies on the market, which supported the growth at global level of Arcelik group.

Buyukerk holds a degree in Economics at the Ege University in Izmir.

“I take over the leadership of a team with extraordinary results, and in 2017 it had important achievements. I congratulate my predecessor, mister Bayız, during whose mandate was started the construction process of a new washing machine factory situated in Ulmi, Dambovita, a local greenfield investment that represents an important milestone for Arcelik group and Arctic. I trust the Romanian team and I am sure that together we will bring forward Arctic’s successful story and we will still offer high quality products,” said Buyukerk.

During Bayiz mandate, Arctic registered the biggest recorded turnover supported both by sales, and a growth in the exports volume.

Arctic is one of the most important companies in Romania, with over 3,600 employees, including subcontractors, and a turnover of RON 2 billion in 2016.
