JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel Elevates The Guest Experience With A New Mobile Key System

JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel has launched a new Mobile Key system, available to guests through the Marriott Bonvoy App. The Mobile Key system allows members of the Marriott Bonvoy global loyalty program to use their smartphone as a room key to access hotel guestrooms and common areas, such as elevators, fitness centres, executive lounges and meeting rooms.   The Mobile Key option becomes available on the home screen of the app once the guest has completed mobile check-in, minimising social interactions at the desk, while enjoying a smooth arrival experience.

By choosing Mobile Key, guests benefit from a new technology which offers them much-needed peace of mind, through features such as notifications on when the guest room is ready, secure access to the room number details and a higher level of security.

“The pandemic has accelerated the roll out of digital technologies to enhance the customer experience in the new travel environment, including mobile check-in and check-out, mobile room keys and mobile chat between hotel associates and guests, via the Marriott Bonvoy Mobile app. I am sure our guests will love the seamless functionality available to them with the Mobile key installation, enabling our members to get even more from their hotel experience, helping minimize contact and better maintain social distancing,” says Tino Lindner, General Manager of JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel.

As well as a contactless option for check-in and check-out, easy access to mobile keys, and the ability to request services and amenities via chat and mobile requests during their stay, the Marriott Bonvoy app offers members even more personalized recommendations and offers to maximize their points earned when traveling and even when they are not. As the centrepiece of the company’s mobile-first mindset, the Marriott Bonvoy app ensures guests receive the best available rate; enjoy program benefits such as exclusive member rates, accrue points for stays, and enables members to customize their stay experience.

Mobile key is currently offered at more than 4,500 Marriott Bonvoy properties worldwide.  Almost half of hotels in Europe, Middle East & Africa are now live with Mobile Key, with many more preparing for their implementation during 2021.

For those guests who aren’t Marriott Bonvoy members, JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel has also installed an innovative technology, with new RFID Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) cards, offering more security to users. The RFID and BLE locks technologies enable Mobile Key functionality, being implemented for all hotel rooms and common guest areas. Thus, guests and meeting planners can enjoy the same secure access to hotel facilities, using either the Mobile Key on their smart phone or the RFID key.

As a result of the pandemic, JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel has also implemented other digital solutions. Aiming to enhance the guest experience and respond to the new travel environment, Restaurant and In-room Dining menus at JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel are viewable by scanning a QR code from the mobile device. Smart meetings are made possible for meeting planners, thanks to full hybrid meeting solutions available at the hotel, offering a complete studio, fully equipped with latest video conferencing tools and professional assistance.
