Cooperativa de Energie recently completed the acquisition of Apuron Energy and thus enters directly on the market, as the first energy cooperative type of supplier in Romania, furnishing 100% green energy, with certificates of origin. In June, commercial offers will be launched for individuals and legal entities, as well as for prosumers who want to move their electricity contracts from the current supplier to the cooperative.
The money for the acquisition of the supplier Apuron Energy came as a loan from the members of the cooperative and from Som Energia, the largest green energy cooperative in Spain. At the end of the credit period, the Cooperativa de Energie will return the amounts received with interest. Thus, members who have been granted a loan for a period of one year will receive an interest rate of 3.7% per annum, and those who have been granted a loan for a period of five years will receive 5.2% per annum.
“We are proud to have been able to enter the market with the help of the community, which responded positively to our call to raise the amount needed to acquire the supply company. In addition to the commercial offers in the supply area, we want to launch other investment projects in photovoltaic panel fields as soon as possible, in order to become green energy producers as well. Our main objective is to facilitate in our country the energy transition to a market covered 100% with energy from renewable sources, in which citizens play an active role.” Victor Iancu, President Cooperativa de Energie.
Why did ordinary people choose to invest in an energy cooperative?
“I chose to invest in Cooperativa de Energie because I am confident that such an investment can be profitable. Since I was little I dreamed of making a photovoltaic park and through this investment I partially realized a dream. I also intend to start consuming only green energy because I am aware that we all need to change our mindset. ” Andrei, an investor with the amount of 5000 lei.
Cooperativa de Energie is the first cooperative supplier in Romania of 100% green energy, certified, at a fair price, without hidden taxes and with quality customer service. It is the first energy community in Romania owned directly by citizens, who participate together in the energy transition to renewable energy and energy democracy. Cooperating members (future energy customers) have equal voting power, regardless of the contribution to the share capital (1 member, 1 vote) and have transparent access to all business information.
